First mentioned as an inn in documents 500 years ago, the hotel has been led since 1984 by the Baier family with great attention to detail. Up to 30 members of staff care for our guests both cordially and professionally.
Since october 2010 the Wastlwirt belongs to the group of the "Romantic Hotels & Restaurants" as 1st house in Lungau. The ccoperation with approximately 200 members in Europe comprises historical buildings, which attach great importance to tradition and individuality, historically and culturally connected to the region and run by the owners themselves .
In the Wastlwirt **** Romantik- und Genusshotel you find everything you expect for a perfect holiday: Comfort & Romance Room, a wellness oasis with a great indoor pool, sauna area, fitness room, lawn and romantic spa .
In the centre of the culinary delights for connoisseurs and gourmets are regional specialities from the unique "Rauchkuchl" ("smoke kitchen"). Here we serve among many other drink specialities, our Hausbier „Wastlbräu“ and selected wines and „cellar spirits“, with have been exclusivly pressed, blended and distilled for us.
Active in the natural landscape of the LungauGuaranteed snowy mountains and dreamy valleys, romantic mountain huts and 60 modern lift facilities for 300 km of slopes from Katschberg to Obertauern, almost 250 km of cross-country trails - the Lungau is a paradise for skiers and cross-country skiers. It is not far to the ski areas Mölltal glacier, Dachstein Glacier or Kitzsteinhorn-Glacier. In the Wastlwirt you can borrow from a vast range of suitable ski equipement from a special shop and register for ski school for children and adults, including transfers. Our alpina landscape with its romanitc side valleys, Alpine Pastures and 60 mountain lakes also offers singles, seniors, couples and families a wide range of active holidayopportunities for hikers, mountain bikers, pleasure cyclists, horse riders golf players. Several hundred kilometres of excellent hiking and biking trails and mountain bike routes lead through flat terrain, but also via high altitude paths way up a high summit over 2000 metres high. You can start at the front door - on foot or by hiking bus. The rental of electric bikes is new and allows you to experience with ease the region of Austria with the highest rates of e-bikes. A 27-hole quality golf course close to nature with an excellent golf school for adults and children is located nearby. It is embedded in a flat pasture landscape between mountains through which the river Mur flows.
